Cozy Date Night Spots in NYC

Updated: Jan 15, 2020

It’s mid cuffing-season, and you’re desperate to find a snuggle buddy to brag about to relatives come the holiday season. After sweating over dating app prompts and digging through old thirst-traps, you’ve finally locked in a date with the potential man (or woman) of your dreams. You plan on getting drinks and they ask you for your favorite date-night spot. It’s not like you can suggest the sketchy NYU bar where the bartenders know you on a first name basis. You’re looking to set a precedence, let them know that you’re as cool and trendy as they might hope you are. This is usually when I bring in the help of my chic friends. Here is a condensed list of cozy and sleek date-night spots that will for sure get you that second date.

Please Don’t Tell

Tucked away in the back of Crif Dogs, you’ll seem uber in-the-know when you bring a suitor to this speakeasy hidden where you would least expect it. With a cozy atmosphere and delicious food (be sure to get the caviar tater tots), this is the spot to woo any date.

Death and Co.

The epitome of cozy chic.

Jackdaw

This bar gives off ultimate cozy vibes. Always (and tastefully) decorated for the fall and winter seasons, Jackdaw is great for getting to know someone in a relaxed setting. For the true experience, be sure to get the warm spiked cider.

Mono Mono

Not only amazing for exquisite dinners, but serving up some of the best cocktails I’ve ever known. It has cool-girl energy and steak that will have drool dripping down your chin, but in like, a cute way.

Thursday Kitchen

This is a really cute spot but you can guarantee that it will have a long line. To put a positive spin on it, what better time to really get to know who you’re about to share a cocktail with?

Bar Decibel

If you’ve read any of my other blog posts, you’ll know much I adore this place. It is the hidden gem of the East Village and only the true cool kids know about it. With walls adorned in graffiti and wasabi dumplings that will definitely spark a convo between you and your suitor, Decibel is always my go-to. My recommendation: the truly to-die-for saketini.
