As you all are all-too-aware, cuffing season is banging at the door. Whether you will be spending it with a gorgeous suitor or an even more gorgeous bottle of wine, you’ll be needing some stellar shows to help you transition into winter.
Broad City
Any kaween knows that Broad City is the best way to spend a Sunday, or let’s be real -- any day of the frikkin week. The show basically documents the life of Ilana and Abby, two raging characters trying to navigate their way through their twenties while living in the crazy NYC. Their struggles are shockingly relatable, in the kind of way that you will admit only to your closest friends. Broad City’s Ilana and Abby represent our generation’s women, and the realities of being a boss ass bitch with a poor man’s pocket.
Handmaid’s Tale
This is a must for literally everyone.
Insecure
The name of the show says it all. I’m not saying you HAVE to watch Insecure on HBO, but like...yeah, you should probably get on that.
Game of Thrones
This is the show that literally everyone loves to love. I’m the type that craves Bachelor Mondays, yet this complex plot even catered to my taste. If you haven’t seen Game of Thrones, you’re sitting out on countless conversations. Think of the last time you spoke to a delicious man at the bar. Did he watch and LOVE GOT? Heck yes.
Love
You all know that painfully and horrendously awkward person that is slightly rude and entitled, while being entirely dorky and obnoxious. He or she is the kind of person you know you dislike and feel bad for at the same time, but you’re not really sure why. This show is incredible in that it molds characters that fit this exact description, plus literally every other person in your life. To make it even better, Gillian Jacobs is the leading lady. Praise be.
Girls
Living in NYC is sometimes like Gossip Girl, but only if Mummy and Daddy are dropping a pretty penny. Most of the time, days aren’t spent perusing around The Met and getting hammered at Butter. Instead, I constantly find myself dripping in sweat and wondering how I’m going to afford my next packet of Ramen. So forget shopping retreats to Chanel, I chose sleep for dinner four nights out of seven. This is a reality that only Girls on HBO can capture. This show will make you realize that nobody feels your pain like Lena Dunham.
